Description
The monument to Daniel Clark, built in 1880 and signed by Raper, is made of calciferous sandstone ashlar and is accompanied by cast-iron railings. It features a squared base on a stepped plinth with pilastered angles that are topped by a cornice and ball finials, leading up to a tapering shaft. The main inscription honors Daniel Clark, an ironfounder of the city, who died on January 9th, 1880, and there are additional inscriptions for other family members on all four faces of the monument. Surrounding the plot are cast-iron railings with a patterned design, made at David Clark's foundry, while most other graves in the area have had similar railings removed.
