Description

The gateway to the grass walk at Althorp is an 18th-century archway made of lias and limestone ashlar. It features a round arch with moulded and patterned voussoirs and a keystone. The structure has rusticated quoins and an open pediment adorned with rusticated ball finials. On either side of the archway, there are blank openings and piers topped with rusticated ball finials. A pair of wrought iron gates with spikes completes the design.
