Description

Dial House is a house dating from the 17th century, situated on Magpie Road in Sulgrave. A datestone reading K.I.E./1636 is visible on the porch. The house is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, with a porch distinguished by ironstone banding. The roof is thatched, and it features brick and stone stacks. The building is two storeys high with an attic. It has four bays. The porch, located in the second bay from the left, features a doorway with a four-centred stone arch above which is a sundial, topped with a coped gable. The inner doorway has a stone frame and a half-glazed plank door. The ground floor windows are three-light, with square stone hoods, wooden lintels, and old iron casements. The first floor features three-light stone mullioned windows, except in the second bay from the left which has a two-light window. A dormer window is found in the right bay. The gabled ends are coped, with kneelers. The interior has not been inspected.
