Description
This is a pair of early 19th-century houses located on Church Street. They are built of coursed squared ironstone, with the right-hand side rebuilt in brick. The roof is slate, and there’s a central brick stack. The houses have two storeys and four bays. The doorway to number 29 is located in the second bay from the left, distinguished by a moulded wooden surround with pilasters featuring incised detail, a dentil cornice, a flat hood supported by scroll brackets, and a six-panel door with panelled reveals. There are three-light casement windows with wooden lintels on either side of this doorway. The entrance to number 31 is in the second bay from the right, featuring a moulded wooden frame and a four-panel door. A moulded entablature continues to the left, framing an early 19th-century bay window with similar pilasters to the doorcase. A 20th-century garage doorway is set into the right-hand bay. The first floor has three-light casement windows with wooden lintels. The interior remains uninspected.
