Description

The Homestead is a late 17th-century house with later additions. It is built of coursed ironstone rubble, originally with a thatched roof, and features flanking brick stacks. An 18th-century extension was added to the left, constructed of coursed ironstone rubble with a tile roof, and a 19th- to 20th-century wing extends forward from the front, creating a T-shaped plan.

The 17th-century section of the house is two storeys and has an attic, with three bays. The ground floor has a 20th-century one-light casement window in the centre, flanked by three-light casement windows, all with wooden lintels. Two-light casement windows with wooden lintels are found on the first floor. The entrance to the 18th-century extension’s right bay is a timber lean-to porch with a doorway featuring a wooden lintel and a 20th-century door. A two-light casement window with a wooden lintel is positioned above the doorway. The 19th- to 20th-century brick wing is two storeys high and has two bays, featuring three-light casement windows with wooden lintels. The interior has not been inspected.
