Description
This is a house with an attached barn, dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. A datestone reading 17-/E- is visible on the side facing the road. The house was originally built as a north-south block, comprising the house and a barn. It was remodelled in the 18th century, with an extension added to the front to create a T-shaped plan.
The section to the right is two storeys high with three bays. The entrance, positioned to the left of centre, has a wooden lintel and a 20th-century glazed door. There are two-light transomed casement windows with wooden lintels to the left and a similar three-light window to the right. The first floor has two-light transomed casement windows with wooden lintels in the outer bays. The window in the right bay retains chamfered moulded stone jambs, likely remnants of a 17th-century window. A single-light casement window with a wooden lintel is located centrally on the first floor. The right gable end features a coping with kneelers.
The projecting left extension, built in the 18th century, is constructed of similar materials, two storeys high with an attic and two bays. It features three-light transomed casement windows with wooden lintels on both floors, a moulded stone cornice, and coped gable ends. The main block to the left of the projecting wing has two bays; the left bay has a two-light casement window with a wooden lintel. A stable door with a wooden lintel and glazed upper part is in the second bay from the left, and a plank door with a wooden lintel is in the right bay. A gabled half dormer is also present. The gable end is coped.
The barn, extending from the left side, is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a corrugated iron roof and comprises three bays. A door in the left bay has a plank door with a wooden lintel and an overlight with a wooden slatted ventilation grille. A 20th-century glazed extension covers the two bays to the right. The left gable end is coped. The interior of the house has not been inspected.
