Description
Hanger Lodge is an early to mid-18th century house, originally a farmhouse. It is constructed of brick in Flemish bond, with some flared brick headers, and has a front facade of coursed squared limestone. The roof is of plain tiles, with a two-span hipped design and brick internal stacks. The house has two storeys and a three-window front. It follows a double-depth plan. The central entrance features a four-panel part-glazed door within a moulded wooden surround, protected by a timber porch. There are twelve-pane sash windows with flat-arched heads on both the ground and first floors. Further details include a plinth, a storey band, and hollow-chamfered ironstone eaves. The side elevations feature similar windows and cogged brick eaves. While the interior has not been inspected, it is likely to be of interest.
