Description

This house on Watling Street East, Towcester, dates to 1779. It is constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with flared brick headers, and has a 20th-century plain-tile roof, brick ridge stacks, and brick end stacks. The house follows a two-unit plan and has a three-window front. A three-panel door is located to the left of centre, set within a moulded wooden surround with an overlight and a straight hood supported by brackets. 19th-century sash windows are evenly spaced on both the ground and first floors, all with gauged brick lintels and keyblocks. The exterior features a plinth, three stone steps leading to the door, a storey band, and moulded brick eaves. A datestone and a County Fire Insurance plaque are positioned between the centre and right-hand first-floor windows. A moulded brick-coped gable is visible to the left. The interior remains uninspected.
