Description

The Manor House, dated 1672 and subsequently altered, is constructed of coursed limestone with narrow bands of ironstone, featuring ironstone quoins and dressings. It has a thatched roof with brick chimneys, stone copings and kneelers to the gables. The south front has a gabled projection centrally, containing a two-light casement window over a ledged door with a double moulding superimposed to form three panels. To the left of the gable is a two-window section with a two-light stone mullioned leaded casement on the first floor, a similar three-light casement on the ground floor left, and a two-light casement in a stone surround on the right. To the right of the gable is a three-window section containing one leaded stone mullioned casement and two later casements. The west gable end has a defaced date stone and a three-light leaded casement window. The north front exhibits a projecting gable with a two-light upper casement window on either side, above ground floor openings, and lean-to extensions on the ground floor. Inside, a 17th-century oak staircase features a moulded handrail and heavy turned balusters. The Manor House and its barn (now a garage) group together.
