Description

The Old Rectory is a house dating from 1720, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble, ashlar, and some red brick, with a Welsh slate roof. The house is arranged in an “H” shape, with two-storey wings and an attic. The west front has a central section with four sash windows. A central doorway is framed by fluted Doric pilasters, topped by a broken entablature with triglyphs, and an open pediment. The interior was altered in the 19th century. The Old Rectory is historically linked with the Church of St Mary the Virgin and the Rectory Dovecote, forming a group of buildings of group value.
