Description

Hill Cottage in Great Houghton is a building from the 17th or 18th century that has been altered over time. It is constructed of coursed rubble with a Welsh slate roof, featuring flanking chimneys and stone-coped gable ends on kneelers. The cottage has two storeys and an attic. The north front includes three 19th-century wood casement windows, with two in the original part of the house and one in an extension on the right. The entrance is located on the south side. There was a long stone barn that was formerly attached at right angles on the south, but it has since been demolished.
