Description

Maltsters Cottage is a cottage dated 1685, with 20th-century alterations. It is built of coursed limestone rubble and has a slate roof with brick end stacks. The cottage is 2-storey and features a 3-window range with a 2-unit plan. There is a 20th-century door to the left of center, which has a wooden lintel and is set in a 20th-century gabled porch. The cottage has 2-light casement windows on both the ground and first floors, each with wooden lintels. Above the porch, there is a datestone inscribed with "IH/1685." The interior is noted for having spine beams.
