Description
The Old Smithy is a 17th-century cottage constructed from coursed squared limestone with a thatch roof and a brick ridge stack. It features a two-unit plan and is two stories high with a one-window range. The main front faces the garden and includes a plank door located to the right of center, which has a moulded wood surround and a timber lintel. There are two-light casement windows on the ground floor and a small rectangular window on the first floor to the right, all featuring timber lintels. A 20th-century single-storey extension projects from the far right. Inside, the cottage has moulded spine beams and an open fireplace with a moulded bressumer.
