Description
Heathcote Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse, with an early 19th-century front wing. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone with a slate roof and brick end stacks. The house follows a 2-unit central staircase plan, presenting a 2-storey, 3-window facade. A central part-glazed door is set within a moulded wooden surround and timber porch. The ground and first floors have 12-pane sash windows with chamfered lintels. A kitchen wing is located to the rear right of the main house.
Inside, the house features spine beams, the majority of which are boxed in, although some retain ogee stops. The kitchen contains a large, blocked open fireplace, supported by a chamfered bressumer, and a small, steep staircase partly contained within the fireplace. A large cellar is present, with a stone inscription reading "SL/1721" found within the window embrasure.
