Description

The gate pier located on the west side of the main entrance to Aynhoe Park dates from the early 18th century. It is constructed of limestone ashlar and features panelled sides. The inner face of the pier projects slightly and is topped with a scroll. There is a small shield displaying a coat of arms on the side that faces the road. Additionally, the pier has a moulded entablature that is finished with a ball finial.
