Description
No. 17 Silver Street is a house dating from around 1700. It is constructed of squared coursed ironstone and has an artificial stone slate roof, with stone and brick stacks at either end. The building has two storeys and an attic, featuring five bays. The central doorway is topped with a stone lintel and has an overlight above a six-panelled door. All the windows have stone lintels and are fitted with 20th-century two-light wooden casements. The left gable end is coped and has kneelers.
Inside, the house has been remodelled in the 20th century, but it retains an original open fireplace with a stop-chamfered bressumer, along with original ceiling joists and slips.
