Description
Barby Wood Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 18th century, constructed of coursed ironstone rubble with an artificial stone slate roof and brick stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic, featuring three bays. The central doorway has a moulded wood frame, panelled reveals, and a 20th-century door with an overlight above. On either side of the doorway are 12-pane sash windows with wood lintels, and similar windows are found on the first floor. Inside, there is an open fireplace and old six-panel doors. To the right, there is a 19th-century brick extension that connects to an attached outbuilding, which is also built of coursed ironstone rubble and has an old tile roof. The outbuilding is square with a hipped roof, and its interior retains original roof timbers.
