Description

The building at 9-11 Spencer Parade dates to around 1838. It is constructed of stucco with Welsh slate roofs, and comprises a central four-storey section flanked by three-storey wings. The ground floor features canted bay windows, and a central porch supported by two fluted Doric columns, with flanking Doric pillars. A pair of ornate cast iron porches are located to the sides. The first and second floors have tall Roman Doric pilasters marking slightly projecting ends and the centre. The windows are sash windows in reveals arranged in a 1:2:3:2:1 pattern. A central window to the upper floors is positioned between the tall pilasters and is topped by a pediment containing a dummy window. The fourth floor has plain pilasters and two sash windows.
