Description
Cottages Numbers 140 and 141 are a pair of canal cottages built in the early 19th century and altered in the 20th century. They are constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and are painted, with a slate roof and brick stacks at each end. The cottages have a double-depth plan and are two stories high with a two-window range. There are 20th-century doors to the left and right of the center, featuring flat-arched heads. The ground floor has two-light casement windows with flat-arched heads and limestone keyblocks, while the first floor has similar three-light casements. A cogged brick storey band and eaves add to the architectural detail. The interiors have not been inspected.
