Description

The plinth and base of the market cross in Culworth date back to the medieval period. Made of ironstone ashlar, the plinth is hollowed out on the south side to accommodate the shaft of the cross, which rests on a low square base. This structure is likely a remnant from the top of the cross base located on the south side of 'The Green.' It is included in the listing for its group value.
