Description
The wash house located between numbers 45 and 46 in Harlestone was built around 1851 by E. Blore. It is constructed from squared coursed lias with ashlar dressings and features a plain tiled roof. The building has a one-unit plan and is a single storey. A large three-light casement window with a transom, cast iron diamond panes, and an ashlar surround is situated in the end gable. There is a brick and stone stack at one end and a plank door on the side. This wash house is part of a planned layout that includes ten houses and their accompanying wash houses, specifically numbers 43 to 52.
