Description
Tunningham is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century and mid 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared ironstone with a slate roof and features blue brick end stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a three-window range. The central entrance consists of a part-glazed door with an overlight, framed in reeded wood and topped with a flat hood, and is approached by six semi-circular steps. On either side of the door, there are 12-pane sash windows, as well as additional sash windows on the first floor, all with stone sills and lintels that include keyblocks. The gables are stone coped and have kneelers. The right side of the house features two and three-light casement windows, while the older back range is made of coursed limestone rubble with ironstone quoins. Inside, the older range contains a good set of stop-chamfered beams and original roof trusses with clasped principals, ties, and collars.
