Description

The Wilderness is an 18th-century house located on Old Forge Lane in Preston Capes. It is built of coursed squared ironstone and features a slate roof with 20th-century brick end stacks. The house has a two-unit plan and is two storeys high, with a three-window range. The central door, which is from the 20th century, has an overlight and a timber lintel. Above the door, there is a two-light casement window, while there are three-light casement windows on both the ground and first floors to the left and right. All windows have timber lintels, and the first-floor windows are stop-chamfered. The interior has not been inspected.
