Description
These stables, located approximately 25 meters south of Eydon Hall Farmhouse, date from the 17th century and were altered in the 18th and 19th centuries. They are constructed of coursed squared ironstone and feature a slate roof. The building is one storey high with a loft and consists of five bays.
The second bay from the left has a doorway with a wooden lintel, flanked by semi-circular windows that have voussoired stone heads. There are additional doorways with wooden lintels in the right bay and the second bay from the right. On the first floor, there is a 2-light stone mullioned window with a square hood in the right bay. The roof pitch was altered in the 19th century.
Inside, the loft has a floor from the 19th and 20th centuries, supported by iron columns. The stables are included for their group value.
