Description
Stone Cottage is an early 18th-century cottage built from coursed limestone rubble, topped with a plain tile roof featuring ornamental ridge tiles and brick end stacks on stone bases. The cottage has a two-unit central staircase plan and stands two storeys tall with an attic, presenting a three-window range to the main front, which faces the garden. This facade includes central two-light casement windows with timber lintels, a similar three-light casement window to the left, and a French window to the right. On the first floor, there is a central two-light casement flanked by similar three-light windows, all with timber lintels. The building features quoins, stone coped gables, and three roof dormers. Inside, the cottage boasts ogee stop-chamfered spine beams, an open fireplace with a bread oven, a winder stair, and a collar-truss roof.
