Description
This is a barn dating from around 1700, located approximately 30 meters east of number 24 on Crick Yelvertoft Road. The barn is built from coursed ironstone and limestone rubble, with some cob construction. The right gable has been rebuilt in brick, and it features a corrugated iron roof over thatch. The barn has four bays and includes a central cart entrance, which is a 20th-century addition with brick jambs, a wooden lintel, and double plank doors. To the left of this entrance is a 20th-century casement window with an iron lintel. The left gable end has stone coping, while the right gable is coped in brick. There is also an original cart entrance at the rear of the barn. Inside, the original roof structure remains intact. There is a wall extending forward from the left corner, constructed from cob with tile coping, dating from the 18th to 19th century. This barn was originally part of the farm buildings associated with Greenhill Farmhouse on Drayson Lane and is included for its group value.
