Description
Hill Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1797. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone and features a Collyweston slate roof. The building originally consisted of three units with a rear wing, creating an L-shaped plan. The main front has a four-window range with two- and three-light casements that include glazing bars, all set beneath gauged stone heads with keyblocks. To the right of the center, there is a four-panel part-glazed door that has a similar stone head. The farmhouse displays ashlar gable parapets and kneelers, as well as ashlar ridge and end stacks that have moulded cornices. A datestone is located on the right end stack, and there are four cast-iron tie-rod plates positioned at intervals along the main front. The left gable features blocked window openings with wooden lintels, while the rear wing contains some casement windows with wooden lintels. The interior has not been inspected but is noted to have spine beams.
