Description
This is a house located at 43 Upper Benefield, dating from 1651, with a datestone marked WS/1651. The building has been extended in the mid-20th century. It is constructed from squared coursed limestone and features a Collyweston slate roof. Originally, the house had a two-unit plan and is two storeys high. The front has a two-window range with three-light stone mullion windows that include hood moulds. There are also two gabled roof dormers, ashlar gable parapets, and a central ashlar stack. The datestone is positioned between the first-floor windows. There are 20th-century extensions at the rear, and while the interior has not been inspected, it is noted to have ceiling beams. The entrance is located at the rear of the house.
