Description
The Manor House is a large house dated 1704, marked with the initials W over IM, and has been enlarged and altered in the 20th century. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with ironstone bands and features a steeply-pitched thatched roof with coped gables on kneelers and two moulded stone ridge stacks. The house has two storeys and an attic.
A central projecting wing was added in the 1920s, which includes a 20th-century panelled door set in a moulded stone architrave and 20th-century casement windows. On either side of this wing, there are two single light windows on the ground and first floors, although the left-hand ground floor window is blocked. Most of these windows have wooden lintels, and the left-hand first floor window on the right side retains its leaded panes. A low wing has been added to the right of the main structure.
At the rear, there is a gabled dormer with a datestone, along with 20th-century casement windows in two and three-light configurations and two canted bays. The interior has not been inspected. Additionally, there are earthworks in the garden that indicate an earlier building on the site.
