Description
The granary and attached barn, located approximately 20 meters northwest of Eaglethorpe Farmhouse, likely date from the mid-18th century and mid-19th century. They are built from squared coursed limestone and feature roofs made of Collyweston slate and artificial slate, forming an irregular L-shape. The granary is two storeys high, with three bays of blocked openings on the first floor and 19th-century stable door openings on the ground floor. The gable ends have ashlar parapets, and one end gable includes a first-floor doorway accessed by an external flight of stone steps. A 19th-century lean-to extension connects the barn, which is positioned at a right angle to the granary. The central cart entrances are topped with shallow brick arches and have one set of plank doors. Inside, the granary's roof structure was renewed in the 19th century, and the ground floor has been converted into stables. The granary is shown on a map from 1775 and is included for its group value.
