Description

This is a house located on Chapel Street in Warmington, built in the 18th century, with extensions added in the 19th and 20th centuries. A datestone indicates construction in 1725. The house is built of squared coursed limestone with an asbestos slate roof. Originally constructed with a two-unit plan, it now has a two-storey, two-window front. The windows are 3-light casements with glazing bars, set beneath wooden lintels. A 20th-century door is centrally positioned under a stone lintel with a keyblock. Ashlar detailing includes quoins, a shallow pilaster on the right corner at ground floor level, and ashlar gable parapets. Brick stacks, with raised bands, are positioned at each end. The right gable, restored in the 19th century, features a datestone with a hood mould above it. A two-storey brick lean-to extension is present at the rear. The interior was noted to include an open fireplace, though it has not been inspected. A single-storey, two-unit extension to the right is considered to be of negligible architectural interest.
