Description
Ashdown Farmhouse is a farmhouse with origins in the 17th century, mainly developed in the mid 18th century. It features squared coursed limestone with an ashlar facade and has a T-shape plan. The building is two storeys tall, with part of it having an attic. The main front has a mid 18th century three-window range of 20th century cross casements set under wooden lintels, some of which have been renewed. There is a central 20th century door also under a wooden lintel. The roof has hipped dormers, ashlar gable parapets, and rebuilt brick stacks at the ends. The rear wing dates back to the 17th century and includes two ovolo-moulded stone mullion windows and a moulded door surround. It has a chamfered plinth and an ashlar gable parapet. The interior was noted to have been remodelled in the mid 20th century but retains spine beams.
