Description

Langton Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century with alterations in the 19th century. It is built of regular coursed limestone with some ironstone banding and dressings, and has a slate and pantile roof. Originally a two-unit plan, it now forms an L-shape. The main front has two storeys and an attic, with a two-window range of 19th-century sash windows with glazing bars, set under flat arches with keyblocks. Ashlar gable parapets and brick stacks are located at the ends. A 19th-century wing extends to the rear, featuring a 20th-century door and windows. Attached to the rear is an 18th-century outbuilding, now incorporated into the house, with ashlar gable parapets and a pantile roof. Inside, there is an early 19th-century staircase with a stick balustrade and panelled window reveals.
