Description
Numbers 2 and 3, along with the barn attached to the left, are a house, shop, and barn likely built in the mid-18th century and altered in the 19th century. The building features regular coursed ironstone with a slate roof and a rendered plinth. Originally, each unit had a single-room plan. The structure is three stories tall and has a two-window range of sash windows with wood lintels. The ground floor window of Number 2 is a 19th-century shop window, while the first and second-floor windows have glazing bars. There is a central pair of doors under a single wood lintel, with the door to Number 2 being six-panelled. Brick stacks are located at the ends of the building. Attached to the left is a small 18th-century barn that is rendered and has a corrugated asbestos roof. The barn features a tall central plank door with a loft door above it. Number 2 was previously used as a bakery, and the second floor was likely added in the early 19th century. The interior is reputed to contain a 19th-century bread oven and ceiling beams.
