Description

This building, located at 1 St John Street, is a house that has been converted into a house and shop. It dates from the late 18th century and is constructed of squared coursed ironstone with a slate roof. Originally designed with a two-unit plan, the building stands three storeys high and features a two-window range of sash windows that decrease in height on the second floor; all windows have glazing bars and rendered heads. There is a 20th-century shop front on the left side. The building also has a bullnosed brick cornice, along with an ashlar gable parapet and kneelers on the left. Brick stacks are located at both ends of the structure. The interior has not been inspected.
