Description
The Kightly Building Contractors, originally a house now serving as a shop and office, dates from the mid 18th century. It is constructed of brick with stone quoins, which are now painted, and features a 20th-century plain-tile roof. The building was originally designed with a two-unit plan and consists of two storeys with an attic and cellar.
The façade has a five-window range, which has been altered to three windows, featuring casements in the original openings under flat arch heads with keyblocks. The central 20th-century door is framed by a 19th-century wooden doorcase that includes plain pilasters and an entablature, accompanied by a flight of steps. To the far right, there is another 20th-century door, and to the left, a 20th-century shop front. A two-light cellar window is located to the right of the main entrance. The building is adorned with a moulded stone cornice and has a pair of dormer windows. The gable parapet is situated to the right, with brick stacks at the ridge and end. The interior has not been inspected.
