Description

The dovecote at Burton Latimer Hall is a structure dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century. It is built from coursed limestone rubble, with some ironstone at the rear. The front slope of the roof is covered with concrete tiles, while the rear slope has corrugated sheeting. The dovecote features a restored louvre at the center of the ridge, a plain eaves cornice, and coped gables on kneelers, although there are signs that the roof has been raised. A small plank door, centrally placed and set in a pegged frame with a timber lintel, provides access. Inside, there are nesting boxes throughout.
