Description
The bridge located approximately 80 meters southeast of Deene Hall is a structure from the mid to late 18th century, featuring a reused 17th-century balustrade. It is constructed from limestone ashlar and has three shallow segmental arches with low cutwaters. The bridge is flanked by horizontally rusticated approaches and has five bay parapets made of square moulded balusters, with a panelled pier between each bay. Similar balusters can be seen in a drawing of the east prospect of Deene Hall from around 1746 by William Brasier. The gardens of Deene Hall are listed at grade II in the Historic England Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in England.
