Description

The wash-house located at the rear of The Chequered Skipper Public House was built between 1900 and 1901 by William Huckvale for Charles Rothschild. It is constructed from coursed squared stone and features a hipped thatched roof with a stone stack that has a moulded ashlar flue. The building includes two doors and a two-light stone mullioned window on the left end. This wash-house is part of a significant group of model estate buildings in Ashton, commissioned by Charles Rothschild.
