Description
This is a wash-house built between 1900 and 1901 by William Huckvale for Charles Rothschild, located at the rear of numbers 22 and 23. It is constructed from coursed rubblestone and features a pyramidal thatch roof with a stone stack that has a moulded ashlar flue. The building has a square plan and is a single storey. There is a central doorway with a plank door on the side that faces the rear of the cottages. This wash-house is part of the significant group of model estate buildings in Ashton created by Charles Rothschild.
