Description

The wash house, located at the rear of Numbers 13 and 14 Ashton Green, was built between 1900 and 1901 by architect William Huckvale for Charles Rothschild. It is constructed from coursed rubblestone and features a pyramidal thatched roof with a stone stack that has a moulded ashlar flue. The building has a square plan and is a single storey. There is a central doorway with a plank door on the side that faces the rear of the cottages. This wash house is part of a significant group of model estate buildings in Ashton, created by Charles Rothschild.
