Description
Wash-house, built between 1900 and 1901 by William Huckvale for Charles Rothschild. The building is constructed of coursed rubble with a pyramidal thatch roof and a stone stack featuring a moulded ashlar flue. It has a square plan and is single-storied. A central doorway is positioned on the side facing the rear of the cottages, and is accessed by a plank door. The wash-house forms part of the notable group of estate buildings at Ashton, commissioned by Charles Rothschild.
