Description

This description is for a pair of chest tombs located approximately 13 meters south of the nave of the Church of St. Mary Magdalene. The tombs date from 1764 and the early 19th century and are made of limestone ashlar. The northern tomb, which is from the late 18th century, features bolection moulded pilasters at the corners and has a partially legible inscription dedicated to John Hackett. The southern tomb, dating from the early 19th century, has reeded pilasters at the corners and oval panels that contain inscriptions for the Saunderson family.
