Description

Green Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid 18th century to the 19th century. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone and yellow brickwork, topped with Collyweston slate roofs. The building originally had a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high with an attic. The main front features a three-window range of 19th-century casements beneath wood lintels, with the central window on the first floor being blocked. There is a central late 19th-century ashlar porch that has a hipped roof and a panelled door, along with two hipped eaves dormers. The gable ends have ashlar parapets and kneelers, with ashlar stacks at each end. To the right, there is a single bay that is similar in style but has a lower eaves level. An early to mid 19th-century one-bay extension is also attached to the right, featuring a larger 19th-century casement window under wood lintels. At the rear, there is a mid to late 19th-century extension, part of which is made of yellow brickwork. Inside, the room to the left of the entrance retains the remains of an open fireplace with a bressumer.
