Description
This is an 18th-century dovecote located approximately 30 meters southwest of Church Farmhouse on Mill Street in Duddington. It is built from squared coursed limestone and features a Collyweston slate roof with a rectangular plan. The dovecote has two casement openings at the upper level, which are set under wooden lintels. To the right, there is a 20th-century plank door, also under a wooden lintel. The structure has gable parapets and a reconstructed wooden glover at the ridge. The left gable displays a raised string course at the eaves level with a blocked opening above it. Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to contain about 800 nesting boxes.
