Description
Welland Bridge, located in Tixover civil parish, is a medieval bridge that was widened in the 19th century. It is constructed of ashlar, coursed rubble stone, and blue brick. The bridge features four pointed chamfered arches and two cutwaters with broaches on the upstream side, while the downstream side has four chamfered rounded arches with blue brick interiors and keystones. There is an additional rounded arch in the ramp on the Tixover side. The bridge has low piers at the ends of the ramp, a stone band, and stone coped parapets. It carries a road over the River Welland.
