Description

This is a mid-17th century house, with a datestone indicating 1684. The house is constructed of regular coursed ironstone and limestone, with an asbestos tile roof. Originally planned with two rooms, it was later extended to form an L-shape. The two-storey elevation facing the road features a gable with two- and three-light stone mullion windows. It has ashlar gable parapets and kneelers, and a datestone is set within the gable. A 19th-century gable is located to the left, with a 20th-century porch set between the gables. A short return wall extends to the right, abutting another gable which contains a plank door within a 17th-century opening with a four-centred moulded stone head. The rear elevation, likely dating to the mid-17th century, has two three-light stone mullion windows on the ground floor, and 19th-century casements on the first floor. A large central brick stack is present. A gable to the left has a casement window within a moulded stone surround. The interior has not been inspected.
