Description
Croft House and attached wall is a house dating from the early to mid-18th century, with some 19th-century alterations. It is constructed of squared coursed ironstone and features a slate roof. The building has an L-shaped plan and stands two storeys high with an attic. The main front has a three-window range of tripartite sash windows, all set beneath stone lintels. The central entrance features a part-glazed panelled door with a moulded wood surround. The house has ashlar gable parapets and three 20th-century roof dormers. There is a chamfered plinth, an external brick stack to the right, and a brick and stone stack to the left. The rear wing includes one wooden cross window, and its upper storey has been remodelled in the 20th century. Inside, the entrance hall features a 19th-century staircase with a stick balustrade, and the room to the left has an open fireplace with a bressumer and a bread oven. An 18th-century ironstone wall is attached to the left of the main front. The property is included for its group value.
