Description
Number 30 and the attached outbuilding to the right is a house and outbuilding dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with ironstone and brick details, topped with a Welsh-slate roof that was originally thatched. The building has two storeys and features a three-window range. Notable architectural details include quoins, a first-floor band, and eaves heightening made of ironstone, as well as moulded brick eaves. The gables are coped on kneelers, and there are moulded ashlar end stacks, which have likely been renewed. The central door is from the 20th century, and there is a blocked doorway to the right. The windows are 6/6 sash style with painted brick cills, and all openings have timber lintels. The outbuilding to the right, now used as a garage, is older than the house and has a datestone marked BH/1729 with a moulded surround in the gable end, although this may have been reset, similar to the moulded stone lintel above the two-light casement windows below it. The interior has not been inspected.
