Description

This stable, located approximately 30 meters north of the Head Gardeners Cottage at Deene Park, dates from the mid-18th century and was built for the Brudenell family of Deene Hall. It is constructed from squared coursed limestone and features a Collyweston slate roof. Originally, it was likely a single-unit stable and is a single storey structure. The stable has a two-window range of casement openings, all under wooden lintels, and a central stable door also set beneath a wooden lintel. The gable ends are adorned with ashlar parapets. Although the interior has not been inspected, a building of similar shape is depicted on the estate map from 1747, held at the Northamptonshire Records Office in the Cartographical Collection.
